39th International Sarajevo Tourism Festival in Sarajevo, Bosnia & Herzegovina, 19-21 October, 2017.

India participated as a Partner Country in the 39th International Sarajevo Tourism Festival in Sarajevo, Bosnia & Herzegovina, 19-21 October, 2017.

 

 

The opening ceremony took place on 18th October 2017 in the Youth House, Sarajevo. After listening the National Anthem of Bosnia & Herzegovina and India, the two countries presented traditional cultural performances to the audience. 

                  

The Festival was inaugurated by Mr. Amer Kapo, Director of Skenderija Center, Mr. Muharem Sabic, Minister of Economy of Sarajevo Canton, Mr. Nermin Muzur, President of Tourist Community of Sarajevo Canton, Ambassador of India, H.E. Rahul Chhabra and Mrs Edita Dapo, Minister of Tourism.
The official ceremony ended with a reception hosted by the Mayor of Sarajevo, Mr. Abdulah Skaka in the City Hall.

 

On the first day of the Festival, on 19th October an Indian cultural programme was organized in Skenderija Centre. Pandit Rajesh Gangani, a tabla solo artist and Mr. Szabolcs Tóth, Sitarist entertained the visitors. Following their concert an Indian classical dance performance was shown by Ms.Saumya Shukla, kathak dance teacher and performer.

 

                   


Ambassador Mr. Rahul Chhabra also visited the India Stand and met with Mr. Amer Kapo, Director of Skenderija.

 

The day ended with the screening of the Bollywood movie, ‘3 Idiots’ in the Youth House.

 

On 20th October, Mr. Vijay Khanduja, Counsellor held his opening speech in Skenderija Centre. He was talking about Visa possibilities and scholarship opportunities for Bosnian Nationals.
