Ayush Day in Sarajevo


In collaboration with the Bosnian-Indian Firendship Society, Embassy of India organized an Ayush day in Sarajevo at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Sarajevo on 1st February 2018 from 10:00-15:00 hrs. Before the event, Mr. Sanjeev Manchanda, Second Secretary (Pol&Comm), Dr. Asmita Wele, Ayush Chair at University of Debrecen, called on Prof. Dr Semra Cavaljuga, Dean of the Faculty. The leadership of the faculty expressed keen interest in the cooperation with the Ayush Chair in University of Debrecen and the Medical Council of India in the field of alternative healing methods.

Also present were Prof. Dr. Mirza Dilic, Vice-Dean for International Relations, Professor dr. Nermin Sarajlic, Coordinator for Development, Dr. Dina Kapic, Ms Lejla Dzananovic, Assistant Professor, Ms. Taida Nakic, Coordinator of Medical Studies in English.

The Ayush Day was opened by welcoming remarks of the Dean, Prof. Dr Semra Cavaljuga, and Second Secretary (Pol&Com) Mr. Sanjeev Manchanda, who stressed on the importance of alternative health systems and India-BiH relationship respectively. Next, Dr. Asmita Wele, Professor at Ayurveda Chair at University of Debrecen gave a presentation of Ayurvedic lifestyle.

Then Dr. Péter Tóth, Chairperson of the Hungarian Scientific Ayurveda Medical Association spoke about the integration of Ayurveda in health care. Thereafter, Ms. Ankita Sood, Yoga & Lifestyle expert, Embassy of India talked about the Yoga for stress management. Finally Dr. Saila Kulenovic – Latal, Director of the Association for the Integrative Studies Aude Sapare gave a presentation on Homeopathy.
