Rahul Chhabra, Ambassador of India
Rahul Chhabra (lFS: 1987) took over as Ambassador of India to Hungary from August 2015. He succeeds Mr. Malay Mishra. Prior to this assignment, he was Joint Secretary (Central Europe), Ministry of External Affairs, New Delhi.
He has an undergraduate degree in Economics from St. Stephens College, Delhi University. He has a graduate degree in Economics from the Delhi School of Economics and Masters in Business Administration from the Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Calcutta, where he was placed on the Roll of Honour.
While serving in New Delhi, he worked to promote foreign investment flows into India. Later, he served as Director for External Publicity at the Ministry of External Affairs and Director in the Foreign Secretary’s Office.
During his stints abroad, Mr. Chhabra has served in China, United States, France, Belgium, Senegal, and the Philippines.
Rahul is married and has two sons.
