Exchange of visits

For list of visits between India and Hungary, please click Visits. The most recent VVIP visit has been the visit of Hungarian Prime Minister Mr Peter Medgyessy visited India from 2-8 November 2003

Mr Medgyessy, during his visit, went to Delhi, Agra, Mumbai and Bangalore.  A joint statement was issued during the visit and following agreements signed: Bilateral Investment Protection and Promotion Agreement(BIPA), Double Taxation Avoidance Agreement (DTAA), MoU on the cooperation in the IT Sector, Defence Cooperation Agreement, Cultural Exchange Programme, Educational Exchange Programme and Visa Fee Travel for Diplomats and Officials between both countries.  The EXIM Bank of India and the EXIM Bank of Hungary also signed a MoU for reciprocal lines of credit. Hungarian company Transelektro Rt expressed interest in the 30 million contract for the modernization of Neyvelli Power Station.  Prime Minister Medgyessy had meetings with the business community including senior officials of FICCI, FIEO and Chairman of Tata Group Mr. Ratan Tata. PM  Medgyessy also visited Bangalore IT park. Coinciding with the visit, a meeting of the Joint Business Council took place. Seven Agreements were signed between the two countries.
